Assam Lottery Prize Structure: ₹1 Lakh to ₹50, Tax and Claims
Updated · Assam Lottery Result

Every Assam lottery prize follows one fixed pattern. Each of the 12 series pays six prizes, from ₹1,00,000 for the full 6-digit number down to ₹50 for a matching 4-digit ending. This page explains what each prize pays, how many digits it needs, the real odds, the tax on big wins and how to claim safely. We sell no tickets and cannot claim for anyone; we only explain how it works.
Assam lottery prize list: the six tiers
The table below is the full Assam lottery prize list for one series. It has been the same in every series on every day we have stored. The last column shows how much each tier pays out in total, because some tiers have many winning numbers.
| Prize | Digits matched | Winning numbers | Each pays | Tier total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1st Prize | All 6 | 1 | ₹1,00,000 | ₹1,00,000 |
| 2nd Prize | Last 5 | 1 | ₹7,000 | ₹7,000 |
| 3rd Prize | Last 5 | 10 | ₹3,500 | ₹35,000 |
| 4th Prize | Last 4 | 10 | ₹200 | ₹2,000 |
| 5th Prize | Last 4 | 10 | ₹100 | ₹1,000 |
| 6th Prize | Last 4 | 100 | ₹50 | ₹5,000 |
| All six tiers | — | 132 | — | ₹1,50,000 |
Two things stand out. The 1st prize is by far the largest Assam lottery prize, worth more than all the other tiers put together. And the 6th prize, at ₹50, has the most winners: 100 numbers in every series.

How many digits each prize needs
Every Assam lottery prize is matched on the end of your ticket number, not the start. The 1st prize needs all six digits. The 2nd and 3rd prizes need the last five. The 4th, 5th and 6th prizes need only the last four.
Here is an invented example, used only to show the method. Say your Vishnu ticket is 307148. It wins the 1st prize if the Vishnu sheet shows 307148. It wins the 2nd or 3rd prize if 07148 is printed there. It wins the 4th, 5th or 6th prize if 7148 is printed there. A different series with the same numbers does not count.
Watch the zeros. An ending like 07148 has a zero in front, and it is easy to skip it when reading fast. Read the sheet from right to left, one digit at a time, or let the ticket checker do the matching for you. Our guide to reading the result shows more examples and the most common slips.
Prize money per series and per day
Adding the tiers gives ₹1,50,000 of Assam lottery prize money in each series. With 12 series drawn at 03:00 PM, that is ₹18,00,000 across one day, spread over 1,584 winning numbers.
It helps to see that money against all the numbers that could win. One series has 10,00,000 possible 6-digit numbers, from 000000 to 999999. Spread ₹1,50,000 evenly over all of them and you get about 15 paise per number. That simple sum explains why a lottery is a form of entertainment with a cost, not a way to earn money.
Most of the money sits in one place. The single 1st prize is 67% of the prize money in a series. The many small prizes together are a much smaller share, even though they are where most winning tickets come from.
The odds of each Assam lottery prize
Odds here mean the chance that one ticket wins a given prize in one series. For the 1st prize there are ten lakh possible numbers and one winner. For the 2nd and 3rd prizes there are one lakh possible 5-digit endings. For the 4th to 6th prizes there are ten thousand possible 4-digit endings.
| Prize | Possible endings | Winning endings | Chance | In % |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1st Prize | 10,00,000 | 1 | 1 in 10,00,000 | 0.0001% |
| 2nd Prize | 1,00,000 | 1 | 1 in 1,00,000 | 0.001% |
| 3rd Prize | 1,00,000 | 10 | 1 in 10,000 | 0.01% |
| 4th Prize | 10,000 | 10 | 1 in 1,000 | 0.1% |
| 5th Prize | 10,000 | 10 | 1 in 1,000 | 0.1% |
| 6th Prize | 10,000 | 100 | 1 in 100 | 1% |
Grouped, the numbers are easier to read. The 2nd and 3rd prizes together have 11 winning 5-digit endings in 1,00,000, so about 1 in 9,091. The 4th, 5th and 6th prizes together have 120 winning 4-digit endings in 10,000, which is 1.2% or about 1 in 83.
Add every tier and the chance that one ticket wins anything in its series is roughly 1 in 83. Almost all of that chance comes from the three smallest prizes. These are rounded figures, since two winning numbers on a sheet can share an ending, but the picture does not change.
The odds are the same for every number and every draw. No ending is “due”, and a number that won last week has no better or worse chance today. Our statistics page shows the real counts from the archive and why they do not predict the next draw.

Only the highest prize counts
A ticket can match more than one line of the sheet. For example, the full number could match the 1st prize while its last four digits also appear among the 6th prizes. In that case you are paid the 1st prize only. One ticket, one Assam lottery prize: the highest one it matches.
The same rule works lower down. If your last five digits match a 3rd prize and your last four digits also match a 4th prize, the 3rd prize is the one you claim. Our checker applies this rule, so the prize it shows is the one your ticket can take.
Each series is separate, though. If you hold two tickets in two different series, each ticket is checked against its own sheet and can win its own prize.
Tax on the ₹1 lakh Assam lottery prize
Indian income-tax law deducts 30% tax at source, plus cess, from lottery winnings above ₹10,000. Of the six tiers, only the 1st prize is above that limit. So the 1st prize is paid after the deduction, while the ₹7,000 2nd prize and the smaller prizes are paid without it.
| Step | Amount |
|---|---|
| 1st prize | ₹1,00,000 |
| Tax deducted at source (30%) | − ₹30,000 |
| Cess on that tax (about) | − about ₹1,200 |
| What reaches you (about) | about ₹68,800 |
Cess is a small extra charge worked out on the tax itself, so it is a slice of the ₹30,000, not of the full prize. At the rate in use today it comes to about ₹1,200, which leaves about ₹68,800 for you. The exact figure is on the papers you receive when the prize is paid; keep them for your records.
For the prizes below ₹10,000, nothing is deducted at source. If you are not certain how to show lottery winnings in your own tax return, ask a tax adviser. We cannot give tax advice for your personal case.
How to claim an Assam lottery prize safely
The claim rules are printed on the back of every ticket. They give the claim period, the address and the documents you need. Those printed rules are the ones that count, so read them first and follow them exactly.
| Step | What to do |
|---|---|
| 1. Confirm the win | Match the series, date and digits against the full sheet, then against the printed official result |
| 2. Protect the ticket | Keep it flat, dry and undamaged; do not fold it across the number |
| 3. Do not sign early | Sign only when the claim form asks you to |
| 4. Gather documents | Usually the original ticket, ID, address proof, bank details and photos — check the back of the ticket |
| 5. Mind the claim period | Claim within the time printed on the ticket |
| 6. Never pay a fee | No real lottery asks for money to release a prize |
Take clear photos of both sides of the ticket before you hand it over, and keep copies of every form you fill in. If the rules ask you to send the ticket by post, use a tracked service and keep the receipt.
For an older ticket, first find its date in the old results archive, so you compare it with the sheet of the right day. Remember that the printed official result always prevails over any website, including this one. You can also read the wider guide to the Assam State Lottery for the rules around tickets and the law.

Small prizes: what to do with them
Most winning tickets win a small prize: ₹200, ₹100 or ₹50 for a matching 4-digit ending. These are easy to miss, because people often check only the 1st prize and throw the ticket away.
Sellers often pay a small Assam lottery prize themselves. Check with the seller where the ticket was bought legally, and bring the ticket in good condition. If the back of the ticket gives a different rule for small prizes, follow the ticket.
To stop small prizes slipping past you, save your numbers in My tickets before the draw. They are stored on your phone and checked against every new result, so a ₹50 ending is not lost in a long sheet. You can see the newest numbers on today’s result board as well.
Prize scams to avoid
The most common prize scam is simple. A call or message says you have won a large prize, often far bigger than any real Assam lottery prize. Then it asks for a “processing fee”, a “GST charge” or “tax in advance” before the money is sent. A real lottery never does this. The tax on a real win is deducted from the prize; you never pay it first.
Other tricks include fake result images with your number “added”, and people who offer to “claim on your behalf” for a share. Keep your ticket with you, do not share bank details or one-time passwords, and do not hand your ticket to a stranger.
If you are targeted, stop replying and report it on the cyber-fraud helpline 1930 or at cybercrime.gov.in. The sooner you report, the more chance there is of stopping a payment that has already been made.
Play safe
Prizes are rare and small prizes are the most common win, so never spend money you need on tickets. Buy only where lotteries are legal in your state. If anyone asks you to pay to receive a prize, it is a scam.

Prize, tax and claim questions
What is the Assam lottery prize for the 1st prize?
The 1st prize is ₹1,00,000 in each of the 12 series. It goes to the one ticket number in that series whose all 6 digits match the drawn number. Tax is deducted from it before it is paid.
How many prizes are there in one series?
Six prize tiers with 132 winning numbers in all: one 1st prize, one 2nd prize, ten 3rd prizes, ten 4th prizes, ten 5th prizes and one hundred 6th prizes.
Can one ticket win two prizes?
No. A ticket takes only the highest prize it matches. If the full number wins the 1st prize, you do not also collect a smaller prize for its last 5 or 4 digits.
How much tax is cut from a ₹1 lakh lottery prize?
Indian income-tax law deducts 30% at source plus cess from lottery winnings above ₹10,000. On ₹1,00,000 that is ₹30,000 of tax plus about ₹1,200 of cess, so roughly ₹68,800 reaches you.
Is tax cut from the ₹7,000 2nd prize or smaller prizes?
No tax is deducted at source, because these prizes are below the ₹10,000 limit. If you are unsure how to show such winnings in your own tax return, ask a tax adviser.
Where do I claim a small Assam lottery prize like ₹50 or ₹200?
Sellers often pay small prizes. Check with the seller where the ticket was bought legally, and follow any rule printed on the back of the ticket.
What documents do I need to claim a big prize?
Follow the list printed on the back of the ticket. It usually includes the original ticket, an ID, an address proof, bank details and photos. Keep the ticket undamaged and do not sign it until the claim form asks you to.
Someone says I must pay a fee to get my prize. Is that real?
No. A real lottery never asks you to pay a fee, a deposit or “tax” in advance to release a prize. It is a scam. Stop replying and report it on 1930 or at cybercrime.gov.in.
